Cutitronics and ishga partnership ushers in new era of digital skincare in spas
Scottish skincare specialists Cutitronics and ishga have joined forces to introduce cutting edge skincare technology into the world of luxury spas.
At ishga’s annual conference today, the Hebridean producers of luxury, organic skincare products announced an exclusive partnership with Glasgow-based beautytech company, Cutitronics, through which it will trial Cutitron®® technology in spas across the UK. In a truly collaborative agreement, Cutitronics’ technology will blend seamlessly with ishga’s product range, supporting consumers to achieve optimal results and ensuring closer engagement between therapists and clients following spa visits.
To overcome the heavy financial impact of Covid-19 following the year-long closure of spas nationwide, spa owners and therapists have a unique opportunity to innovate and position themselves at the forefront of the rapid digitalisation being witnessed in the beauty realm right now.
By bringing together lab-based technology solutions and results-driven skincare expertise, the partnership will considerably benefit the severely affected spa industry during its recovery from the pandemic. The partnership aims to deliver a high-quality consumer experience that is also commercially viable.
A funding grant from Highlands and Islands Enterprise enabled the multidisciplinary teams from Cutitronics and ishga to come together in an R&D partnership to explore a world class solution that will help ishga stand out and scale up in the crowded but lucrative global beauty market, currently worth $603 billion.
Cutitronics’ disruptive technology brings the scientific rigour of the clinical trial directly to the consumer and spa user by analysing their skin in real time, drawing on a wide range of external factors – such as weather conditions and location – to recommend and dispense the precise amount of the correct product to suit that consumer, according to their unique skin care needs on that particular day.
Leon Trayling, Director at ishga, says: “The last 12 months have clearly shown the need for businesses to learn from and adapt to customer behaviour. By working with Cutitronics to explore innovative solutions to the problems facing all spas, ishga is positioning itself firmly at the leading edge of the industry. We aim to demonstrate transparency in just what our products can achieve for customers and provide an adaptable omnichannel approach to treatment delivery.
“Spas are perfectly positioned to combine digital technology with personal touch to deliver a truly bespoke experience to consumers. Our partnership with Cutitronics is an important step in this direction and ishga is excited to be leading the way.”
Wilma McDaniel, Commercial Director at Cutitronics, says: “Cutitronics chose to work with ishga for two reasons: its exceptional people and its exceptional products. Right from our early discussions with ishga, it was clear that the combination of ishga formulations and Cutitron®® technologies could deliver a 21st century skincare solution that brings fantastic results to consumers and therapists, while supporting the ambitious plans of both Cutitronics and ishga.
“Our vision is for Cutritronics’ suite of technologies to be strategically white labelled to leading skincare brands, starting today with ishga, adapting and tailoring the devices to suit the specific brand.
“Within spas, our technology will be integrated into the entire client experience, empowering the therapist by streamlining the appointment process and offering them objective, data-driven insights on their client’s unique skincare requirements. In turn, spa users will be able to extend the experience beyond the appointment itself, taking home the ishga formulations that they have tried and loved during their treatments and, with continued support from their consultant, begin to see their desired skincare results at home.”
ishga is currently distributed in Australia, North America, Germany, and The United Arab Emirates. The brand is due to launch in India in three months and the team is currently in talks with distributors in North Africa and Japan.
